How to Improve Power and Strength in Your Baseball Swing

Plyo balls are a great tool for increasing power and strength in a player’s baseball swing. The added weight forces them to take a stronger swing which trains the body to adapt to a heavier stimulus upon impact. So if you can get a player used to hitting long through a plyo ball, it will make hitting baseballs that much easier.

You can do this drill a few different ways — overhand toss, underhand toss or hitting them off a tee. I demonstrate how to hit a plyo ball off a tee in the short video tutorial below.

The plyo balls I use are from Driveline Baseball, but you can find them anywhere online.
